A Message from Alcon's Co-Founders and Co-CEO's

When creating a company, one soon learns that the original vision for how the company will be operated requires adjustments, if not an outright transformation. This makes sense, because a business plan is a "static" document, and a company is an organic entity made up of unique individuals that competes in a dynamic and constantly changing marketplace. However, although a company's business strategy may be modified or changed, we believe that the core PRINCIPALS and VALUES that guided its formation should not.

As first laid out in the Alcon business plan almost twenty years ago, we believe in the PRINCIPAL that it is most effective to operate in the filmed entertainment industry as a fusion of the independentandthe "studio" film businesses. Alcon is a true hybrid of these two different "worlds." We are an independent film company in the truest sense of the word as we finance our films from capital resources that exist outside the major studios. In that regard, we control our own destiny and own the copyrights to the films we finance and produce. We are passionate believers in the many attributes of the independent film world. Namely, as filmmaking is, at its core, an artistic endeavor, we believe that the best movies emanate from streamlined, non-bureaucratic environments, and that is exactly the environment we offer filmmakers and writers at Alcon. However, we also believe strongly in the principal benefit of the major studios, which is their powerful distribution pipelines.

As a result of the two most important business relationships we formed early on, we were able to create a company that combines the best of the independent and studio film worlds. Alcon's chairman and principal financial backer is Frederick W. Smith, who is the founder, Chairman and CEO of FEDEX. Fred's financial backing and continuous support has been essential to our ability to create Alcon as a truly independent film company. The next key relationship we formed at the beginning of Alcon's history was our distribution partnership with Warner Bros. This great strategic partnership and support from Warner Bros. has allowed Alcon to have access to major studio distribution on all of its films throughout the company's history. Therefore, filmmakers at Alcon receive all the benefits of an independent film environment, while assured that their films will receive a wide Warner Bros. release.

Just as we have remained true to our core principals at Alcon, we have also been steadfast in our VALUES.  Our most important values are loyalty, integrity and responsibility along with quality entertainment and original thought. Our values reflect the fact that while we are a business and focused on profitability, we understand that we live at the intersection of art and commerce. As such, we believe that we have the responsibility to not only make profitable films, but ones that are respectful and responsible toward the audiences that watch them.

We have been blessed to have had more than our fair share of success at Alcon. We are deeply appreciative and humbled by the support audiences have given a number of our films throughout the years. Our success has allowed us to expand not only the output of Alcon's film operations, but also the scope of the projects we finance and produce. We are very excited about Alcon's upcoming slate of projects, and we encourage you to browse our site and come back regularly to check in on the new developments with our various films.

We have also begun to expand Alcon's operations beyond film, to include both the financing and production of television programming, as well as talent management through our new Alcon Management Enterprises (AME) division. We encourage you to learn more about these two ventures on our website as well.

We recognize that we are just a little late (LOL!) in establishing an Alcon website! However, unlike many companies in the entertainment business, we have always valued our "privacy," and have believed our actions and work should speak louder than our words. While this is still the case, we also recognize the importance of, and we look forward to sharing the activities of our company with those both inside and outside the entertainment industry. We welcome your thoughts and your opinions!

Thank you for visiting Alcon Entertainment's website!
